When I started making food with my two young friends, I had no idea what creative genius they would bring to the playground. Both boys were curious, creative and courageous. In no time, the tame ReDried beans I had made became a mountain. And then fresh oregano became trees. Soon thereafter a ball of papaya became the core of magma that was at the center of our little volcano. All that was needed to finish the volcanic eruption was spurting lava flows in the form of red bell peppers.
What’s beautiful about kids is they don’t have to accept the dull certainties that adults believe to be true, rather they prefer to make exquisit food out of mud, and see things through their creative genius that most adults can no longer visualize.
Stay young and juicy.
